What's all this then?
Follow tweet140 on Twitter and we'll start tracking the length of your tweets. The closer to a 140 character average, the better your score.
How often do you send a direct message?
You will get a DM shortly after you start following tweet140. We send you another DM every 3 days, or every 10 tweets, whatever comes later.
Can I change the direct message frequency?
Send a DM to tweet140 with the contents "frequency 0" to turn off DM updates, or "frequency N" (where N is the number of days > 0 and < 30).
Why does the world need this?
As a matter of fact, it doesn't. It's a dumb game, but we're madly obsessed with numbers so had to build it. We also wanted to test the API.
How is it implemented?
We hired guides who keep a constant watch on followers. As soon as there's a tweet, it's hand-counted, and tallied on a very big whiteboard.
What's a Twoosh?
A twoosh is the sound that Twitter makes every time someone sends a tweet that's exactly 140 characters long. Thou shalt not count past 140.
Who built this?
It's a production of Recursive Function, a company that loves to build cool web-based software. Stuff like FormSpring, TwitterWho, and more.
Did you really just answer every question in 140 characters?
What else would you expect from people who wasted precious hours building an application whose only purpose is to count the chars per tweet?
